The popularity of this children’s series, which began publication in the 1990s, cannot be denied. The series came out when I’d already graduated into adult novels, so until my daughter picked them up, they were just barely on my radar. Now, I’ve read many of them, and I am thrilled that this series exists for our kids.
If you’re a magic-hater (or your kid is), never fear. This series is less about magic and more about adventures through history (although, if you LOVE magic, the “Merlin Mission” books in this series will satisfy greatly). The urgency of the writing and the relationship between Jack and Annie will suck your kids right in. And the best part…there are many books to keep them reading!
Description of Dinosaurs before Dark from B&N:
Where did the tree house come from?
Before Jack and Annie can find out, the mysterious tree house whisks them to the prehistoric past. Now they have to figure out how to get home. Can they do it before dark…or will they become a dinosaur’s dinner?
